Is this place good? Is it even still open?

Yes very good food waitress staff very friendly! I love the look! Has pool tables and bar separated from dinning area family friendly too!

To many pool tables not enough dance floor.

Yes they do. Fairly large one at that.

Did this place evolve from Barrera's and change to American food? Do they have any Mexican dishes?

They do have Mexican food. The story we got was that the family split from Barrera's. They opened this place with some of the basics from Barrera's. They took a building built for a steak house and created a hybrid of bad Mexican food with fair to poor comfort food. Park there and walk to R&K Cafe, spend less, get more, and enjoy it.
